Below is a selection of my written work. Each story either features a unique angle that advances the story beyond existing coverage or breaks exclusive news.

Former President Joe Biden visited Syracuse University in April 2026. Biden, an alumnus of the College of Law, was being honored with a portrait. I covered the event for the NewsHouse and interviewed the artist, Michael Shane Neal. I publishing an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Neal’s process in creating the piece and interactions with the former president.

I covered the announcement of J. Michael Haynie as the next chancellor and president of Syracuse University. In this story, the NewsHouse was the first local publication to report that Haynie identifies as LGTBQ+ — and I spoke to Haynie exclusively about the subject outside of a press gaggle.

In the fall of 2025, I covered the race in the eighth district of the Onondaga County Legislature for Syracuse.com | The Post-Standard, focusing on the incumbent Republican candidate Shawn Fiato. This profile of her was the result of weeks of reporting after speaking to more than 25 sources.

February 8, 2026

When the New York State Democratic Convention came to Syracuse in February 2026, I reported on the biggest story of the weekend: the state comptroller’s race. I spoke to each candidate in an exclusive sit-down interview with each candidate and Attorney General Leticia James. This was the most-viewed story on The NewsHouse in the Spring semester of 2026.

April 23, 2026

Non-tenured faculty at Syracuse University voted to unionize in April. In addition to our thorough reporting on the process behind the formation of the union, The NewsHouse was the only outlet present for the ballot counting and provided exclusive, to-the-minute reporting on the vote in favor of unionization. I also took photos for this piece.

I broke the news that Bill Kinne, a longtime fixture in Onondaga County politics, would be running for his old seat in the county legislature. I scooped other professional news outlets, such as Syracuse.com and The Central Current, in publishing this story. Kinne launched a campaign for the 15th district, which includes the university neighborhood and is relevant to the Syracuse University community.

March 31, 2026

I was the first to break the news that Rep. John Mannion would endorse Tom DiNapoli in the 2026 New York Comptroller’s election. DiNapoli is facing challengers for the first time in his 19-year tenure as state comptroller, making the endorsement significant.

I profiled legendary girls’ basketball coach Willetta Spease for Syracuse.com after her passing.

Nov 4, 2025

On election night, I contributed to Syracuse.com’s reporting on the Democratic Party’s stunning victory in Onondaga County. At the Republican Party’s election night event, I secured exclusive interviews with party leaders despite limited media access.
